Time & Location

07 Mar 2024, 10:00 – 16:00

Shell Petrol Station, A590, Newby Bridge, Ulverston LA12 8ND, UK

About the event

A 110 mile clockwise circuit of the lakes starting from the Shell garage on the A590 at Newby Bridge where we will be aiming to pass not one, but two stone circles on our route!

We will make our way west before heading up the Duddon Valley and eventually skirting Wast Water before a brief coffee stop in Santon Bridge. From there we will head past Blakeley Raise stone circle and over to the bottom of Loweswater for lunch at the Kirkstile inn (https://www.kirkstile.com/fooddrink#).

Afterwards a bimble over Newlands Pass will drop us at Braithwaite for a lap of Bassenthwaite Lake before heading down towards Keswick (and another stone circle) at Castlerigg. Kirkstone Pass is closed for resurfacing until the 28th March so we will return via the tried and trusted A591 route past Thirlmere and Ambleside, finishing at the BP garage at Ings.
